Cougar Town

Chris and I were in Provo last weekend, so it was a perfect opportunity to attend the BYU Homecoming football game. We were still riding the wave of the Cougars' recent success (before last night's unfortunate loss) and had a great time with Chris' friends, Dan, Kevin, and Chad. I hadn't attended a BYU football game as a real spectator in probably 6 years, so it was a treat - especially since we sat on the 3rd row...thanks, Dan!

Just like old times...

Becka's Baby Shower

I was lucky enough to go to Lubbock yesterday for Becka's baby shower. (Boy, things have changed since we were roommates at BYU 7 years ago!) I am excited to meet her little boy in a few months. Becka is quite the cute prego lady!

Here we are with dueling tummies - 21 weeks vs 32 weeks. (I am finally being forced to wear maternity pants, and even the small ones are still way too big - belt required.)

I Will Now Have to Learn How to Do Hair

We are pleased to announce that the little bun in the oven is now officially a bunette. Our baby girl is safely baking away at 19 weeks and counting. I thought it was going to be a boy, but we are very excited to be having a girl! The left pic is a view of her bum and legs - proof that she is in fact, a girl! The right is a profile pic. Look at those lips!

This is me at 19 weeks...She is beginning to make her mark on me...

Hawaii Report

First of all, I have to say that at no point have I been more disappointed in my lack of picture-taking motivation than I am at this point. We actually had a great trip and did lots of cool stuff - a lot of which was not caught on camera. Mostly it's because of laziness, but also because we like to enjoy things without worry about getting a good photo while we are doing it. So, with that caveat, here are the highlights and the pics we did take. (Awesome footage that was not captured: taking a boat with our friends Josh and Amanda taking out into Kaneohe Bay and snorkeling, snorkeling at Sharks Cove and seeing tons of cool fish and a sea turtle, lots of swimming/boogie boarding/beach time on the North Shore and Waikiki, more pics of the Luau and activities at the Polynesian Cultural Center, us eating at lots of yummy restaurants, and I'm sure I'm forgetting other things...sigh.)

I love Chris' hair in this pic. There is no reason to do your hair in Hawaii if you have curly/wavy hair, by the way. It will never stay how you want it, and it is too windy to keep it down.

Are We Finally Grown Ups Now?

We are very happy to announce that we are adding a new member to our family! Little baby (insert gender here) Chrally Roberts will be making his/her arrival somewhere around February 9, 2009. We are so excited to have a baby and join most of you in becoming parents. This is the babe at 10.5 weeks:

I am now 14.5 weeks and am feeling great. I was nauseous and exhausted for about a month, but I never actually threw up, so I consider myself one of the lucky ones. We find out the gender of the baby in one month, but I really don't want to paint that blue/gray room we JUST painted. So, if it's a girl, she may just have a cute blue/gray room...anyway, happy days!

I love watching pregnant women progress, so I'm going to post belly pics periodically. Here is belly pic #1 - taken today at 14.5 weeks. No real visible belly; I should have something much more substantial in the future!

Yay! Our First Visitors!

We got a wonderful surprise phone call on Monday from the Baileys telling us they would be at our house on Wednesday night (on their way to Houston). So, we had our first visitors, and they were great guests! They even brought their own entertainment in the form of 3 cute kids! Here are some pics we took before they left this morning. (I will post some video later, but I need Chris' help first. :)). Good luck, Bailey's, and we are so happy to have you as fellow Texans!

PS - Chris was there Wednesday night, but he had to leave early this morning for work, so he missed the photo shoot. However, he will be part of the video I post later (and Ryan will, too).

Lovely Trip to Utah!

I just had a wonderfully jam-packed week in Utah! It was full of friends, family, and reunions! My wonderful friend, Lori Qian, was in town visiting people before the Qian family moves to China next week. I hadn't seen Lori since Kiersta and I visited her in Pleasanton last March, right after baby Alex was born. We had such a great time together! We even had a sleepover! It was a great reunion and such a blessing to see her and her beautiful family...hopefully I can make it to China to see her in the coming years.

(Sorry if some of these pics are repeats of the same people, but not everyone had a camera, so they are for sharing, too. :))

Kiersta and I were like a quasi-married couple in the summer of 2006. Both of our husbands were far away (Chris was doing an internship in Phoenix, and Ryan was training in Baltimore) for the summer. I would come home from work, and she would have dinner waiting for me. It was awesome!!!

Me and Sweet Errson Bailey

I liked this goofy one of me and Lori.

Unfortunately, I didn't get any pics of Brian and Liz Shelley (the hosts), but we did get this pic of the group. Our old bishop and his wife (Bishop and Sister Colyar) were able to come to our mini-BYU 203rd Ward Reunion and send off for the Qians!

A Wonderful, Belated July 4th

I had a great time in NC over the 4th of July holiday! My mom's 60th birthday was on July 3rd, and we had been planning a surprise party for her for about 4 months. Everyone (but Chris) was able to make it home for the party, and it was truly a surprise! We had all the cars parked up the street and out of sight, and we were all ducked behind the couches in the dark when my parents came home from dinner. We turned on the lights, jumped out from behind the couches and yelled "surprise!" It was awesome!

We had a great weekend filled with food, fireworks, the pool, a movie, games, "riding" Papa's motorcycle, and lots of family fun time! It was a great trip, but we wished Chris could have been there!
